Olga Road
Commercial Development
& Apartments

CLIENT:PRIVATE OWNER / PAD.

LOCATION: OLGA ROAD, MADDINGTON WESTERN AUSTRALIA

     The concept design sought to focus on providing a solar passive amenity to as many apartments as possible with a ‘stripped back’ aesthetic to minimise unnecessary construction costs.

Role:

Project Lead, Building Designer & Architectural Technician

The 23 Olga Road development was a 3 storey, mixed use project consisting of 27 residential apartments and 400m2 of commercial tenancies. PAd. was commissioned to design and document the project from concept design through to building permit approval. 

 

The project brief was to provide a suitable quality of residential amenity whilst ensuring the construction was viable and the projected project yields were addressed. PAd. was responsible for all architectural design, documentation, coordination, submissions and approvals for the project.

The concept design sought to focus on providing a solar passive amenity to as many apartments as possible with a ‘stripped back’ aesthetic to minimise unnecessary construction costs. PAd. established and coordinated the project team of consultants to procure the delivery of development application and building permit documentation whilst obtaining statutory approvals within the City of Gosnells, Western Australia.

CLIENT: XX / PAD.

LOCATION: PILBARA, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

     During the refurbishment of the Asthma Foundation offices in West Perth, PAd. provided pro bono consultancy services to aid the development of a universal access compliant solution

Role:

The Pilbara is an unforgiving landscape where a thorough understanding of the environment is paramount. To enhance the liveability and ensure the requested environmentally conscious approach was adhered to for this 6 Unit development, PAd. employed several principles to the design to ensure the underlining environmental requirements were met.

Through employing lightweight construction to reduce thermal mass, cross flow ventilation planning for cooling winter breezes, a rectilinear floor plate and the provision of deep expansive balconies to aid in protection to glazed elements all contributed to this development achieving a 6.3 star energy rating.

A contemporary approach paying homage to the Queensland vernacular style.

PROJECT 03

Richardson
Development

CLIENT: XX / PAD.

LOCATION: XX, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

     PAd. provided on-site assessment and formal compliance review services to facilitate, approvals, permits and certificates.

Role:

This 7 Apartment development explores the idea of separating spaces within a double volume form. The lower level is reserved for living spaces, enabling a natural flow from indoor to outdoor, facilitating cooling, cross flow ventilation. The upper level is connected through a double volume void and is served by the en-suite and master bedroom which enjoys a visual connection between both zones looking over the void
